I used to have one of those race car metabolisms that annoy sensible people. I could eat a pepperoni & sausage pizza every day of the week and not gain a pound. I performed this amazing party trick over and over, just to keep in practice. I used to get a lot of exercise as well. I played soccer, ran, and jumped around a lot in my ska punk band. I was thin and fit, and it was easy.
Sadly, my Metabolism of Wonder went out for a pack of cigarettes after my twenties and didn’t bother to leave a forwarding address. Meanwhile, my career took on a larger chunk of my time, and I was lucky enough to land a wife, kid, and mortgage. All good, but my exercise regimen dropped off sharply. A combination of free-wheeling food choices and lack of movement started to catch up with me, resulting in love handles and disappointing DMV photos.
The solution—no surprise—is diet & exercise.
Now, I’d like to say that the diet part of the equation has been solved, and we all live in a world where chocolate is as nutritious as broccoli. Maple bars boost our metabolism, fondue provides a super-human cardiovascular system, and drinking enough six packs of dark ale results in a six pack of rock hard abs. But no. Reality insists that too much of those foods is the fast track to larger pants and the unspoken threat of having to pay for two coach seats. We each need to find the diet that works for us as individuals.
Exercise, I’m happy to report, is another matter. At Striiv, our passion is to change the face of exercise. We think that exercise can fit your schedule rather the other way around. We believe that fitness can be as fun as playing a Facebook game. We suggest that if your movements can help others while keeping you fit, you’ll want to move more.
Get fit. Have fun. Give back. It’s not a slogan, it’s a roadmap to fitness. And it’s just the beginning. We want to give you more and more compelling reasons to get up off the couch, so you’ll live a longer, healthier life. We’ve got a lot of ideas, and we’ll bring the best ones to you as soon as we can.
And hey, if one of our engineers figures out the chocolate thing you’ll be the first to know. Until then, eat chocolate in moderation, but walk with wild abandon and we’ll get fit together.

I love my striiv so much..as much as my apple products or my nook…you guys rock..I will be first online to buy something new!
everyday I want to beat the day before…one thought for an update have walking down stairs count as a stair maybe. When I walkdown a stair its only a step.
My striiv has made a difference in only 20 days! I now love the stairs in my house, instead of hating to go back up them, I love it. The stairs have become easier in just these twenty days, I’m 62 and stairs were hard, but I have noticed how much easier they are getting. Now I find an excuse to go up and down them all day. Thanks guys, I had been trying to maintain a 10,000 step a day routine, striiv makes it fun and gives me information feed back. Love it!
I have had my Striiv for 2.5 days now, and I am loving it! I was an MMORPG addict who pretty much only moved my hands and eyes for the past 6 years. Striiv has me walking (6 miles so far!) And I find excuses to walk now…like putting away each piece of laundry as I fold it! I am happy. My dog is ecstatic! And, my friends and family are doing /facepalms because “Mom would climb Everest if someone made a game quest out of it!” Thank you so much to whatever group of saintly gamer nerds came up with this.
Love love love this! Thank you!
Oh, my goodness, me too. I was totally glued to my computer for all of my 20s. Now that I’m 30 and have a desk job, I need the motivation Striiv gives me to keep me active away from my day job…And away from the MMORPG. Now if only I could have healthy wrists again, I’d be set.
I just opened my box and have set up my Striiv–which is now charging. In an effort to lose weight and lower numbers so my doctor won’t consider medication, I have been looking for every motivator I can find. I started running again (something I used to do 25 years ago). It’s tough because I’ve been such a couch potato, but I’m improving a little every day. This Striiv is going to be my secret weapon to encourage me to push a little further, and move a little more.
I am particularly pumped about the idea of my efforts making a difference for others.
All in all, I am so ready to start a new way of life. Thanks for being there to help!
And by the way, I LOVE Brocolli…and chocolate!
A 400 lb guy who love to walk now…soon to be a 200 lb guy…thankyou striiv…over 20 miles in one week…AWESOME PRODUCT
Thank you …this got me moving!!!! AWESOME product!
I love my Striiv so much. I told my sister about it and after she purchased it we discuss our results on the phone everynight. I reached the 10,000 step mark last night for the second time and I cried with joy…Literally, cried. I was so proud that I pushed myself and achieved that goal. I will never go back to being a couch potatoe…Never.
I used to sit at my desk for lunch and do nothing. Now I walk on my (2) 15 minutes breaks and my lunch.
